Small Wood Abstractions 6/1999

These Small Wood Abstractions are made of different kinds of wood. Some have casted concrete tops and some are all wood. The top piece defines the shape of the bottom piece.

Danger Too, Dangerous and Danger. 2007

The Danger Series are all done with wooden skewers 8” long. All are held together with a hose clamp with added pieces for stability.

Gems Of Plastic. 3/20/2008

This series was created with a collection of various brightly colored plastic tops and parts. The tallest being 6.25” or 16 cm.

Flaming Seaweeds. 2019

This series is made of real seaweed. They are dipped 5 times in a clear gloss acrylic finish. Two are glues to rusted cast iron objects and the third is a porcelain escutcheon. the tallest being 8” or 20cm.

Three Yellow Pieces. 11/30/2020 and 1/30/2021

These 3 pieces are part of a larger series. All have a card board or paper bag shell with various shapes inside. Finished with multiple layers of paper mache and paint with 5 coats of flat and gloss clear acrylic paint. the tallest being 10.5” or 27 cm.

Orange Sphere , White sphere

These pieces are part of a spherical paper mache series. These are the largest with a 12” or 30cm sphere. The Orange Sphere is the tallest piece I’ve done in years at 58” or 140cm. The bottom is from an alarm bell cover and the wood is from an antique scythe. The White Sphere sits atop a plastic plumbing pipe and is 25’”or 64cm high. Both spheres have 5 coats of clear gloss acrylic paint.
