The inspiration came from Japanese food. After collecting the ornamental sushi grass from restaurants and starting my first pieces with hose clamps and different materials, I went out and bought 4 different types of ornamental sushi grass totaling 4000 pieces. The series has grown to over 25 sculptures and will continue for a long time. Sushi Egg 3 is a mysterious piece with the egg hidden from most views. Only upon looking down does the egg reveal itself. The inspiration is endless and I'm sure these pieces will continue for a long time. The wood cubes are for a scale reference.
